The calculator is designed to make your life easier and reduce stress, for instance when adding a list of numbers, the numbers are all displayed for ease of error checking and individual entries can easily be added, deleted, replaced, edited or manipulated making it unnecessary to redo the complete calculation from scratch. You can also easily cope and deal with any distractions and then return to the calculation. The calculator has comprehensive file saving and file protection facilities, if you omit to save a file before opening another file or quitting the calculator a back-up copy is made, you can even switch the computer off or suffer a power failure and your data will still be saved and of course a software calculator cannot be mislaid, lost or borrowed and is always sitting on your desktop ready to be used.
There are many different uses the calculator can be put to, below are three of the most common:
Calculations that don't have text
Ensure the red KEYS button has TEXT displayed next to it, if not point and left the KEYS button
In this mode any entry beginning with a figure or one of the four operators + - * / will be assumed to be a figure entry , beginning an entry with a letter
or anything else will be entered as text, to finish a text or figure entry press ENTER or right click anywhere in clear screen
Calculations that don't have text
If you don't need any text in a calculation, the fastest and most efficient way to use the calculator is by setting the KEYS button to CMND , the main keyboard will now be designated to activate commands, figures are still entered by typing the figure (into the input bar) and then right clicking somewhere in the main screen area or by pressing or clicking ENTER , the total shown can now for instance be entered by just pressing T on the keyboard rather than pointing and left clicking the T/L button, saving time. You can still enter text in this mode if you wish by pressing the INSERT key or left clicking the TEXT button or by switching back to KEYSTEXT.
The Full screen calculator has many advanced features that can be used to create all kinds of files . Shown above is a calculation to calculate the heat loss of a room in order to size a radiator, as this is a calculation that is used frequently , it is only necessary to create the file once ,it can then be used as many times as required. To use this particular file simply point the mouse cursor at one of the three figures to highlight it and then left click to increment or right click to decrement ,the Btu loss for the room is then shown as the on screen total ,the amount that the figures are incremented or decremented by can be set to any amount.(the mouse buttons to the left of the first and second rows of the mouse button bar +10 -!0 etc can also be used to manipulate the highlit figure).
