Back-up directories

Back-up directories are primarily used to make safety copies of files located on the main hard disk c:\

There are several main menu back-up utilities available these are shown blue ,the first option back-up files allows you to back-up single or multiple files from current main directory ,the second option open backed-up/transferred file or template allows you to open a single file from any back-up directory, the third option back-up all files will back-up all files on the current main directory and the fourth option copy backed-up files to main directory will copy single or multiple files to the current main directory without opening them ,the fifth option deletes backed-up files

On selecting one of the five options above the drive selection box will be displayed, just select the drive you wish to use and ENTER

You can also, if you wish use a directory on the back-up drive by typing the name you wish to use next to the drive and then ENTER

If the directory does not exist the calculator will prompt if you wish to create it

If you wish to use the same back-up directory again you can simply left click to open it from the left box

In Windows directories are known as folders and in the above example you will have created a Windows folder called fscb1, which can be accessed if you wish via Windows explorer, files in back-up drives and directories are not pre-indexed and are instead indexed at every access, therefore files can be copied, pasted, cut or deleted  at random via the Windows explorer folder system, this can be a useful and safe way to transfer files between computers: See File transfers
